Doing More With Less

Doing More With Less

Sacrifice is hard, we know! Together with some of fashion’s favorite faces we want to make your style journey easy. Our vision is a more sustainable and straightforward approach to fashion consumption. Because we value individualism, we have worked to capture a diverse guide of fashion enthusiasts to inspire you on your journey.

MAKE THE COMMITMENT

  • PICK A PLEDGE

It all starts with a commitment. Will it be difficult? Maybe. Is it worth it? Absolutely!

  • REFINE YOUR STYLE

Personal style is what you make it. When you build a closet with intention there’s no need for excess.

  • MAKE IT KNOWN

Participants are invited to share their experiences through social media or other platforms.

3 Tier Pledge

  • The 3 Tier Pledge offers individuals the opportunity to embrace slow fashion by committing to a wardrobe with a limited number of clothing pieces. Participants can choose from three tiers based on their comfort level and desire for simplicity. By limiting their wardrobe, participants can focus on quality, versatility, and creativity in styling their outfits while reducing their overall consumption.

  • Tier Options:

Participants can select one of the following tiers based on their preferences:

    1) A Lot Less: Wear a closet consisting of 30 or fewer clothing pieces.

    2) A Little More: Wear a closet consisting of 45 or fewer clothing pieces.

    3) More Than Enough: Wear a closet consisting of 60 or fewer clothing pieces.

Counting Guidelines: Each clothing piece, including tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, and accessories, counts as one item.

Exclusions: Undergarments, sleepwear, shoes, and workout clothes are excluded from the count, allowing participants to have these essential items in addition to their chosen wardrobe tier.

Versatility and Creativity: Participants are encouraged to explore different styling options and get creative with their limited wardrobe to maximize outfit possibilities.

Mindful Consumption: Participants are advised to avoid purchasing new clothing items unless necessary. The focus is on utilizing and appreciating the existing wardrobe rather than constantly seeking new additions

Clothes Free 365

  • The Clothes Free 365 pledge is a commitment to refrain from shopping for clothing for an entire year. This pledge encourages individuals to embrace slow shopping and reduce their consumption habits. The aim is to promote a more mindful and sustainable approach to fashion by challenging oneself to find alternative solutions and embrace a more minimalist lifestyle. During this year, the only exception to the pledge is accepting clothing items as gifts. However, whenever possible, participants are encouraged to request more essential items as gifts or challenge their loved ones to take the pledge themselves.

  • Commitment Period: The pledge lasts for a full year, starting from the day of enrollment.

No Clothing Purchases: Participants must refrain from buying any new clothing items during the pledge period.

Exceptions: The pledge allows participants to receive clothing items as gifts. However, they are encouraged to request more essential items or challenge gift-givers to take the pledge themselves.

Mindful Gift-Giving: Participants are encouraged to educate their friends and family about the pledge's purpose and suggest alternative gift ideas, such as experiences, handmade items, or donations to charitable causes.

Designer Off Duty

  • The Designer Off Duty Pledge is exclusively designed for fashion designers, urging them to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to the slow fashion movement. By taking this pledge, designers commit to producing items exclusively through made-to-order purchases, reducing waste and promoting conscious consumption.

  • Made-to-Order Production: Designers must only produce clothing items based on customer orders. Items are manufactured after receiving a purchase request, avoiding unnecessary production and reducing the risk of overstock.

Minimal Inventory: Designers are encouraged to keep minimal inventory and refrain from mass-producing items without confirmed customer orders.

Quality and Durability: Designers should prioritize creating high-quality, long-lasting garments that withstand the test of time, ensuring customers can enjoy their purchases for years to come.

Transparency: Designers are encouraged to communicate their commitment to made-to-order production and sustainability to customers, fostering awareness and trust in their brand.

Collaboration: Designers can collaborate with other designers or organizations to share knowledge, resources, and best practices for sustainable production.

Continuous Improvement: Designers should strive to continually refine their production processes, exploring innovative and eco-friendly materials, minimizing waste, and reducing their environmental impact.
